Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool only needs gender, date of birth, how you would describe your general health, tobacco use, the coverage amount you want, and the term length. Six pieces of information is all it takes to return carrier quotes. If you decide to apply, that is when you provide your name, address, and detailed health information.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The quotes shown are what each carrier charges for the health class you selected. After you apply, the carrier will complete its own underwriting and may confirm that class, improve it, or change it based on what it finds. Nothing shown on this site is a guarantee of any specific price or an offer of coverage.
What happens when I click Apply?
When you select Apply, you continue into a secure application that is run by the carriers' platform and prefilled with the answers you gave on this site. You can stop and resume your application at any time, and you sign everything electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed agency (License 0B75129), handles the application.
Will I need a medical exam?
That depends on the carrier you choose, the death benefit amount, and your answers. Many carriers now offer programs that skip the exam for applicants who meet certain age and amount limits. Each quote on this site shows whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that particular product.
Is a longer term better?
A term length should match the years when your income is most critical to your family: the years of a mortgage, young children at home, or business obligations. A longer term locks in your rate for more years but costs more per month. The quote tool shows prices for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-year terms so you can compare them side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not ask for contact information, we do not buy or sell visitor information, and our website measurement does not use cookies. Visit the privacy page to see exactly what data is collected and who collects it.
